About Us

"A school is a building with tomorrow inside. A school is an idea. It is love—with a lump in your throat."
Dr. John Stallings, 1972

When Stallings Elementary was dedicated in 1972, Dr. John Stallings reminded us that a school is much more than a building—it is a place where hopes are nurtured, dreams begin, and lives are shaped. More than fifty years later, his words continue to inspire the work we do every day.

At Stallings Elementary, we are committed to creating a school where every child feels safe, valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. We believe that every student deserves a caring adult who believes in them, high-quality instruction that meets their individual needs, and a school community where they know they belong.

Our dedicated staff works collaboratively to provide engaging, standards-based instruction while fostering students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth. Through Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), data analysis, targeted interventions, and high expectations, we continuously refine our instructional practices to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed. As an AVID Elementary school, we also teach organizational skills, goal setting, collaboration, and leadership so students develop the habits needed for lifelong success.

Equally important is the culture we create together. We believe that every child at Stallings is our child. From the classroom to the playground, our staff is committed to building positive relationships, celebrating student successes, and helping students develop the confidence to persevere through challenges. Our school-wide expectations encourage students to Lead Like a STAR by being Safe, demonstrating Teamwork, being Accountable, and showing Respect in everything they do.

Beyond the classroom, Stallings offers opportunities that enrich the educational experience for every child. Whether students participate in our after-school program, intervention and enrichment opportunities, family engagement events, or school-wide celebrations, we strive to create experiences that foster a love of learning and a strong sense of belonging.

We also recognize that student success is built through strong partnerships between home and school. Parents and families are a vital part of our Stallings community, and we encourage you to stay involved through volunteering, attending school events, participating in Family Literacy Nights, joining our PTA, and maintaining open communication with your child's teacher. Together, we can ensure every student thrives.
